St Andrews Strings
St Andrews Strings is the university's only string orchestra, performing music from the Baroque and Romantic period to modern pieces - including film music.
Formed in 2017, the group is the Music Society’s youngest ensemble. The group is small, which allows us to perform unconducted. St Andrews Strings rehearsals are student led, which makes them collaborative, friendly and engaging!
We rehearse weekly on Thursdays from 5.15 - 7.15pm with socials afterwards. Typically, we perform once a semester in a concert alongside the University of St Andrews Chamber Choir.
Audition Process

An informal audition for St Andrews Strings will take place Tuesday 17th September 1-5pm, which will consist of a prepared piece and some sight-reading.
