Six Unique Groups

The Concert Wind Band is the largest wind ensemble in St Andrews and is open to players of all abilities. The Band plays under the direction of student conductors with a mixed repertoire designed to be challenging, yet accessible, with easier parts being provided for those who aren’t comfortable playing from the original score.
The University of St Andrews Chamber Choir is a 24-voice SATB choir that sing a variety of choral works. The group is auditioned and is student directed.
The St Andrews Symphony Orchestra is the largest of MusSoc's ensembles. It is auditioned and professionally conducted. The Orchestra mostly plays symphonies as well as concerti with professional soloists.
The Big Band of the University of St Andrews (Big BUStA) is the hippest thing in the St Andrews Swing/Jazz scene. The Band plays swing era classics, contemporary funk and modern jazz in Music Society concerts and as a band for hire. The group is auditioned and student led.
A group of ukulele playing students who loved music collided in 2013 and Ukelear Fusion was born. The ensemble typically has around 10 members and specialises in inventive covers and arrangements of popular songs.
